Avery Grenfell Church Named a Lifetime Achiever by Marquis Who’s Who

An accomplished listee, Avery Church celebrates many years’ experience in his professional network, and has been noted for achievements, leadership qualities, and the credentials and successes he has accrued in his field. After accruing many years of experience in his field, Mr. Church retired from his career within anthropology education. At the start of his professional journey, he worked as a teaching assistant for the University of Colorado, Denver. In the years that followed, he joined Memphis State University as an assistant professor of anthropology, and finally, he served as a fulltime lecturer for the University of Southern Alabama. Furthermore, he worked on research projects at the University of Colorado, Boulder, and was on the research staff and board of directors of the Sociological and Anthropological Services Institute, Inc. in Mobile, Alabama.

A graduate of Baylor University and the University of Colorado, Boulder, Mr. Church holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts. His professional affiliations include the American Anthropological Association and the International Academy of Poets, where he is an elected fellow of both, as well as various offices with the Alabama Academy of Sciences and the Alabama Education Retirees Association. He has published more than 230 articles, poems, and historical sketches. Three of his books of poems have been published.

Notably, he has won many awards for his work. Since 2000, Mr. Church has been featured in one edition of Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, three editions of Who’s Who in the World, and five editions of Who’s Who in America. He is featured in International Who’s Who of Poetry and A Directory of American Poets and Fiction Writers, among many biographical features.
